Challenging Ourselves to Confront Discrimination: A Review of Policies and Best Practices for Homeless Service Providers

Executive Directors and Program Managers are invited to join CARES for a special, extended Partners in Progress Workshop, Confronting Discrimination: A Review of Policies and Best Practices for Homeless Service Providers. During this workshop we will discuss:
1) Next steps in counteracting racial discrimination in homeless housing and services.
2) Equal Access in Accordance with Gender Identity Final Rule – a review.
3) Implementing Affirmative Outreach – a best practice.
Participants can expect to leave with a better understanding of how racial discrimination plays a role in homeless housing outcomes in our communities, methods for CoCs to combat racial discrimination, a better understanding of the Equal Access ruling and homeless housing and service providers’ responsibilities in implementation, and development of a plan for how your agency can implement affirmative outreach to increase equity in service provision.
This Partners in Progress presentation is intended for Executive Directors and Program Managers only. Remote partners are encouraged to attend.
