Dr. M John GillDr. M John Gill

Our Guest Speaker is Dr. M John Gill, a nationally known expert in HIV treatment and a leader in movement to identify the link between HIV, DV and housing instability. Dr. Gill obtained his medical degree from the University of Birmingham UK and, after further training at the Universities of Manitoba and Alberta joined the Faculty of the University of Calgary. He is a Professor of Medicine and has, since 1989, been the Medical Director of the S Alberta HIV Clinic. Dr. Gill’s research interests have recently focused on the social determinants of HIV health (in particular housing and exposure to intimate partner violence) and measuring care delivery performance metrics, outcomes and costs. He has over 300 peer reviewed publications and has received grant funding from National Institutes of Health, Medical Research Council UK, Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the European Union.
